Rigmor Bové
Rigmor Bové (b. 1949) is a Norwegian textile artist and designer renowned for her innovative approach to traditional crafts, particularly in tapestry and stained glass.
Education and Early Career
Bové graduated with a diploma from the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry (Statens håndverks- og kunstindustriskole) in Oslo. She furthered her studies at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague and specialized in Art Protis at Les Ateliers VLNENA in Brno, Czechoslovakia.
Artistic Practice
Throughout her career, Bové has focused on public art commissions, creating large-scale tapestries and stained glass installations. Her designs often reinterpret traditional Norwegian folk patterns, infusing them with bold color schemes and contemporary compositions.
Notable Works and Commissions
- Holmenkollen Chapel, Oslo: Approximately 35 square meters of stained glass.
- Margaretakyrkan, Oslo: Approximately 50 square meters of stained glass.
- Langesund Church: A 14-square-meter tapestry.
- St. Johannes Chapel, Nordkapp (1990): Collaborated on the development of the total concept for the chapel, including interior design and decoration.

Bové has participated in various exhibitions, including the “Kunst rett vest” in 2022.
