Turid Juve
Turid Juve (b. October 17, 1933, Oslo) is a Norwegian textile artist and illustrator renowned for her contributions to tapestry and graphic arts.
Education and Early Career
Juve pursued her studies at the Akademie für angewandte Kunst in Vienna from 1952 to 1958, earning a diploma in applied graphics. She furthered her education at Statens Lærerskole i forming in Oslo between 1966 and 1972.
Artistic Practice
Initially focusing on graphic design, Juve transitioned to textile arts, specializing in tapestry weaving. Her works often draw inspiration from Norwegian folk art, characterized by intricate designs and vibrant colors. She is known for spinning and dyeing her own yarns, ensuring a unique palette for her creations.
